Nike Metcon 7 Launch Colorways – Overview
The new Nike Metcon 7 has a conventional shoe design with a built-in midsole using Nike’s E-TPU material, React, and standard insole. The drop-in midsole was removed, and the upper uses materials from Free X Metcon 1. This chain-link upper mesh is tried and tested and presents breathability, comfort, flexibility, and toughness. The outsole uses THICC, which is sturdier and stickier than previous versions, and there are flex points throughout the forefoot to alleviate tension from the back part of the rubber.
The center side of the shoe has an elongated rope guard that extends up through the height of the shoe. The lateral side has overlays that mix into the swoosh, and the outsole has raised sidewalls for foot containment and rope grip and stability. To add protection, the top of the toe box has polyurethane, and the synthetic heel area is customizable. React foam is added to increase comfort to keep you ready for high-intensity cardio.
The tongue stays in place without the need to adjust it and renders comfort on the front part of the ankle. The tongue also has a tab that can be folded down and up over your laces and fastened with velcro. The handstand clip at the heel reduces drag during wall exercises while the Flywire cables integrate with the laces to help protect your midfoot. The hard TPU heels called Hyperlift are redesigned and helps support the base of Metcon 7.
