Shoes and Boots from GORUCK – Overview

Every part of the shoes and boots from GORUCK — from the forefoot to the heel — are meticulously thought of and are made to provide comfort and versatility to all your activities and adventure. Over time and distance, during any activity, including rucking and traveling, your feet will swell. But GORUCK made a way to solve that issue.

Find out what a spacer mesh does on your boots and shoes and why GORUCK removed it. These shoes and boots don’t need any break-in time, and they are ready when you are, right out of the box. They all come with the Scars Lifetime Guarantee so you can push past your limits wherever the challenges lead you.

Ballistic Trainers

The Ballistic Trainers has a wide forefoot area that allows your toes to breathe. This extra space, together with the breathable and flexible knit, decreases the irritation that can happen if your feet brush against the interiors of your shoe. The forefoot is built utilizing an engineered warp-knit technology which gives a smooth one-piece vamp and toe cap while allowing areas of bolstered strength and other areas of breathability and flexibility. The lace area, midfoot, and heel is formed from 1680D CORDURA® Ballistic Nylon panels that offer the most exemplary Special Forces grade abrasion resistance against the strains of rope climbs. The 1680D CORDURA® also grants better midfoot and heel support during vigorous exercises. This shoe has an 8mm heel-to-toe drop that forms the best biomechanical position when lifting heavy loads (squat, clean, snatch) or running and rucking more than 400 meters. The injection-molded heel counter protects, supports, and stabilizes your heel when you’re doing vigorous, load-bearing workouts.

To avoid heel slippage and unnecessary movement around the ankle, there are extra top eyelets usually called a runner’s loop or lock lace to form a tight heel lock. Our foot has three arches, and the shoe’s dense PU foam insert is custom-made to fit the foot’s contours supporting all these arches. Included also is a thinner insert if you want less arch support and want to feel closer to the ground. Two distinct types of EVA are mixed in a steady gradient from forefoot to heel. The firm, durable EVA in the heel renders a solid platform to keep you grounded when lifting or squatting. In contrast, the forefoot’s high rebound, high flexibility EVA gives cushion and comfort for critical movement. The outsole has three distinct rubber compounds – the forefoot rubber is formed for improved grip, while the midfoot is formed from a rock climbing compound and hardened for outstanding abrasion resistance. The heel area is solid and won’t wear down after miles of running or rucking.

Jedburgh Rucking Boots

The Jedburgh Rucking Boots have a lightweight EVA midsole that has a good relationship with the outer rubber producing outstanding performance. These boots don’t need break-in time – they are ready when you are. The spacer mesh is light, soft, and comfortable, but when it gets wet, the boots get heavier. To solve that problem, GORUCK removed the spacer mesh. The custom insert utilizes a solid compression foam system that gives 3x support to your whole foot from heel to toe – including contoured arch support – throughout your foot strike. The forefoot rubber is formed for enhanced grip, while the heel area is created for abrasion resistance and improved durability.

The Jedburgh Rucking Boots are fitting for airborne operations and maintain stability and support on rugged ground. The dual-compound rubber outsole gives an all-around performance in any setting, including enhanced traction on the slippery and muddy ground. The boots also have a generous forefoot area that allows your toes to move. This added space lessens the inflammation that can transpire if your feet rub against the insides of your boot. The 2″ webbing is stitched into the heel counter. When you lace your boots up with your ankle fastened into the heel, by design, the heel counter and the 2″ webbing does not pull forward. At 13mm offset, the boots have the heel-to-toe drop for rucking to decrease the tension on your Achilles and helps provide a consistent pace on asphalt and artificial surfaces.

GORUCK MACV-1

The GORUCK MACV-1 is inspired by Vietnam-era Jungle Boots used by MACV-SOG and other Special Forces units in the ’60s. The upper is made of suede leather and 1000D CORDURA® that is hard-wearing plus a 2″ nylon webbing for added ankle support. When you lace your boots up with your ankle locked into the heel, the heel counter and the 2″ webbing do not pull forward by design. The wide forefoot area allows your toes to breathe to reduce friction that happens if your foot rubs against the insides of your boot. Instead of the standard 5mm, the boot has 3mm speed laces to avoid the accumulation of debris and mud. The 3mm also rinse off, dry faster, and is quicker to tie because there’s less bulk.

The outsole of MACV-1 uses dual-compound rubber that delivers versatility in any environment, including increased traction on wet and muddy terrain. The forefoot rubber is developed for enhanced grip, while the heel area is designed for abrasion resistance and improved durability. The outsole also hugs the toes for understated protection against hostile terrain or when doing push-ups. The MACV-1 has shielding drain holes that keep sand and debris out and repel moisture. It is an old-fashioned technology that is effective in expelling and pushing the water out the side of the boot. It has the 13mm ideal heel-to-toe drop for rucking that decreases the strain on your Achilles and helps provide a natural gait on asphalt and artificial surfaces.
