Here’s some crazy new options for adding weight to your rucksack – the Bonehead Ruck Weight Plates from Fringe Sport.

What’s a ruck weight plate? It’s a compact (buy heavy) iron weight for turning your walk into a true workout. It goes in your rucksack (backpack) and helps bump up the intensity of your hike or walk (or run.)

If you are someone who hates cardio exercises like burpees, jumping jacks, squat jumps, jumping ropes, or running but knows you need it for your health, the good news is there is an alternative way of doing cardio minus the jumps – rucking. If you haven’t heard of rucking before, it is as simple as getting a backpack, putting some weight or weight plates in it, putting it on, and start walking. You can also bring your dog with you.

Bonehead Ruck Weight 30 lb (Black) Bonehead Ruck Weight 30 lb. Over 150lbs? This is the weight you'd be required to use for a GORUCK event. This is the weight I ruck with regularly and I can attest it's a good challenge especially when you are going over 6-8 miles.
Bonehead Ruck Weight 45 lb (Black) Bonehead Ruck Weight 45 lb. For true advanced trainees only. 45 lbs by itself isn't too bad - but consider this - if you are going for distance you might have 10 lbs of hydration plus other required gear. Bonehead Ruck Weight Plates – Overview

The word rucking originated in the military, where soldiers wear a rucksack (backpack) stuffed with equipment and some weights and then walk with it for hours or even days. Today, anyone can do rucking by just putting some weight plates in your rucksack, and you can decide how much weight to ruck with. If you are a beginner, you can start with ten lbs then increase the weight as you progress. Walking with a weighted rucksack can burn three times more calories than simply walking and the same calories as in running. Because rucking is a form of cardio, it is also good cardio as it raises your heart rate and enhances your overall work capacity and stamina. Rucking is kind to your knees because, unlike running, it doesn’t put so much force on your knees.
